My suggestion would be to use the Pundit as your backend as well as your
frontend to the Phillips TV.  I use a Pundit as a backend/frontend, and it
works really well.  That way you could connect the pundit via serial cable
or IR Blaster to control the set-top box for recording and still have the
set-top box available for normal TV viewing.  That would mean that you would
have to put the PVR-350 in the Pundit rather than in your server.  I'm not
sure, but I think you could still use your server's hard drive for storage
with MythTV.  

Or you could get another set-top box that would be dedicated to the Myth
backend on your server.
