[mythtv-users] Live TV audio sounds horrible, but the line-insounds ok?

I also had the exact same issue with my initial test machine.  It was an 
Intel motherboard with built in sound.  OSS and ALSA displayed the same 
issue with any video running through Myth.  Installing a cheap SB-16 PCI 
solved the problem completely.
