| Apart from editing the xmltv config file, the only thing I did
| was something like (in mysql):
|
|
|>update channel set callsign='TBSP', name='Channel 45 TBSP',
xmltvid='C45tbsp.zap2it.com' where chanid=1045;

I see. This will change the name of the old channel, but it doesn't
update the program information. It leaves me with a correct name but
incorrect times for everything within the next week. So far I haven't
had much luck with mythfilldatabase correcting this type of problem the
day before and any programs that were scheduled before the change are
still recorded at the wrong time.

| then rerunning mythfilldatabase. Make sure that 1045 is the correct
| chanid. Since you've already run with a new xmltv config file, you
| should also delete the new channel that got added:

I wonder perhaps if maybe instead of deleting the new one that got added
it might be better to just delete the old one with incorrect program
times? That's what I was asking, if there was anything else I need to do
or if that will break something. I haven't tried it yet. I mainly wonder
what will happen to existing schedules for that channel if I just delete
the older incorrect one.

I think in the future the key will be to change the channel name in the
database _before_ editing the xmltv file and running mythfilldatabase. I
think that may prevent the problem of ending up with duplicate channels
in the EPG.

Thanks for the input, it helps me choose the right track!
