[mythtv-users] Sound with MythTV

Hi Everyone,

I need some help.

I have mythtv 0.12, alsa 0.9.8, gentoo 2.4.20-gentoo-r5, i686 Celeron 
(Coppermine) cpu, more than 256M ram.

I can run xawtv without any problems.  I cannot mute xawtv and use aplay 
/dev/dsp nor /dev/dsp1 to get any sound.  alsaplayer plays songs just fine.

When I record, the video records just fine.  After doing a single record, I 
cannot use xawtv, watch a recorded show (mythfrontend crashes), nor record 
another show without stopping mythbackend.  I used to be able to do all of 
these without restarting the backend.  When I wipe out 0.12 and install 0.11, 
none of the things I was able to do with 0.11 can be done again - same 
problems as with 0.12.

Any ideas???
