I assume you are talking about having a default.xbe file that launches
myth. I'm guessing that this would be approximately the equivalent
of writing a windows version. And, it would have to handle all of
the networking, etc. All probably via the XDK. Good luck. It would
be very cool... But good luck..

On other xbox news... I had gotten an xbox a couple of weeks back
solely, totally, and completely for being a myth frontend. After a
runin with some lighting this past week that fried some network cards
in other things on my network, I got my xbox installed over the weekend.
Modchip, a few other things in the middle, gentoox, etc etc.. mythtv..
Currently fighting:

* Remote control:
  - usb-xboxir not autoloading. simply a matter of me adding it to
     the autostart. Didn't have to remove the xpad first.
  - Still need to remap the keys. Myth without an 'escape' key is
     utterly impossible. I always start myth, drill down to the lowest
     level menu that I need, and have to remotely kill the mythfrontend
     process since I can't get back up levels. I guess the ult
     utility is supposed to fix this. I've compiled it, but it is
     looking for /dev/xboxir, and gentoox doesn't have anything in
     /dev that has *xbox* in it.
  - Gettings lots of key repeats. Supposedly this is fixable. I just
     have to do it.
* Video/audio quality
  - Getting lots of audio stutters. Still experimenting with bitrates
     on the PVR250 (on the backend) and resolutions.
  - Periodically the card can't seem to handle displaying the video as
     fast as it needs to on scene cuts... (Not mpeg blocks.. Very large
     blocks of screen that looks to me like the card isn't fast enough.
     In this case, of course, it isn't actually the card. It's inevitably
     the card driver. I'm sure the geforce is adequate.
  -  Haven't looked into over/underscan yet.
