I've watched the discussion about power supplies and want to point out what
I've learned after both trial and error mixed with some experimentation.

In terms of stability and longevity cheap power supplies and more expensive
power supplies perform much the same IF the INPUT power is clean. If you
live in an area with good clean stable AC lines, you won't see much
advantage to spending a few dollars more on power. The difference is most
notable when the power source is dirty. You're much more like to see
problems with the machine and a shortened life on cheap power supplies.

The best way to guard against this is to purchase a power conditioner or a
power supply with good power conditioning, such as those sold by pc power &
cooling(www.pcpowercooling.com). The reason some people have better luck
with some of the better power supplies is because of the quality of their AC
power.

This is based on MY experience and experimentation. Your experiences will
vary, I'm sure.
