The stock/retail coolers aren't exactly silent. I usually always get an OEM 
proc and a 3rd-party cooler. One that I'm very happy with is the ThermalTake 
Silent Boost, which can be had for only $30 (a very large copper block with 
an over-size low-speed fan). My MythTV box is pretty damned quiet, the major 
noise factor being the hard drive, and I use an Athlon XP 2600+ (on a 
Chaintech 7NIF2, coincidentally).
