We're not suggesting that you will need to do it forever, or even need to do
it in a month. Only until we've come up with a solution to the problem which
doesn't involve a new setting, if that's at all possible.

I'm just as lazy, I don't want to be compiling all the applications I run
either. In most cases I therefore have to wait for fixes to any bugs to make
their way into a release and trickle down to packages. That's all we're
suggesting here - adding a setting is just devoting energy in the wrong
direction which is better spent figuring out a proper fix.
