Remotes aren't keyboards--regardless of what the kernels' input API

It's perfectly possible to do so using the on-screen keyboard or a
keyboard. Hit SELECT (Return, Enter, or Space, by default--or the
remote button configured to send that key name) to bring up the
on-screen keyboard and type your title/subtitle.
If you want your remote treated as a keyboard, then configure it as one,
not as a Linux Infrared /Remote/ Control (LIRC) device.
