Thanks for the reply.

The intent of my email was to give a user perspective on the state of 
the patches and not meant as a criticism.

For 2 days the auto-registration wouldn't work.  I tried many times to 
probe the server and neither frontend could find it.  Then yesterday, 
they could.  I registered them both and I am not long being prompted.
