[mythtv] Why doesn't MythVideo's Video Manager run mythcommflag?

I've been having a couple of problems playing back .vobs that I think 
might be fixed now that I know to run mythcommflag --video file.

1) mythfrontend locks up when I ff/rew and/or jump forward/back.
Which sounds similar to the lockup problem described by ticket #4341.

2) sound plays during ff/rew.
Which also sounds like ticket #4189, which I gather has been rejected 
because the problem doesn't exist if you run mythcommflag --video.

It seems to me that I would have never had either problem, if only Video 
Manager ran mythcommflag after it created database entries for my 
imported .vob files. Hence my question:

Why doesn't MythVideo's Video Manager run mythcommflag?
