Yes, that's what the entire UI is designed for.

Myth tries to use various methods to provide smoother video playback (that 
mplayer/xine/etc don't) - DRI on ATI cards is one of them.  On some setups 
(don't know if it's config, driver version, specific hardware, whatever) we 
get back bad data, and that causes really bad video playback.  Could probably 
work around it by not trusting the driver so much, but there's been no 
incentive to.
