Its a cx88 card - hence the non-ivtv support.  I *thought* that the cx88 
drivers had a compatibility layer cx88-compat that was supposed to provide 
IVTV compatibilty, but I'm probably mistaken.  
So the state of play is that I have a cx88 hardware encoder with (aparently) 
no mythtv support, as I said in my first post I'm willing to have a crack at 
adding support, if someone can point me in the correct direction.  I'd really 
like to have the hardware encoder support working.

Um, I shall have to think of some sensible questions to ask re this...
Until then, any hints?
