so have it an option that can be changed, but filled in with the available 
information. By default it should be that specific program information, with 
the option of making it a recurring recording of that show, so no subtitle 
information would be needed.

DVB records an mpeg stream directly, so no profile would be needed. 
Transcoding options maybe?

Well, this is assuming that one decides to record from Live-TV, so no rule 
would exist, if it did, then it would have been recorded, or should have 
been.
If its a single episode, would a rule be needed, could just that one episode 
be selected for recording?
