No my screen is 4:3. ALL transmissions are 16:9 here. If a program is only
4:3 I get black borders all around (top/bottom due to displaying 16:9
transmission on 4:3 TV, and left/right due to 4:3 program transmitted on
16:9). In this case there are no black lines horizontally.

If anything I need the "Vertical" option which your code hasn't implemented
yet. :(

I have tried the patch with XV. It only really works for case 2 in my
situation. However it doesn't actually zoom for some reason. I am seeing the
debug lines like "filter_blackborders: 0x8ab9fd0 start : 53" so the code is
definitely detecting things properly.
