You are correct. I'm not sure when it was turned off; I didn't notice
until I reviewed that section because of the joystick.

Since all Macs support OpenGL, I think we can make it an auto-detect or
runtime setting when we get there; there shouldn't be any lack of
compiler support for OpenGL on OS X.

Right now, it includes <linux/joystick.h>, so it's not very portable.
