I know, but you don't have a lot of time. If Jake were to add this 
feature, I think he should do it in the simplest possible way. 
Eliminating the ringbuffer is much more complicated if you want to keep 
features such as seeking across program boundaries working. (Eliminating 
the ringbuffer is better because it eliminates other problems, like the 
problem with what to do if multiple frontends want to watch LiveTV 
from multiple video capture cards on the same backend.)
