Indeed it does sound that way, I was just hoping for a quick and easy 
fix (should know better by now!).  I'll do a backtrace report later on 
this week when I get around to building a debug copy of mythtv and play 
back some dodgy nuv files. For some reason (which I've not gotton to the 
bottom of building mythtv in debug causes no end of playback performace 
problems so I can't debug and use it at the same time) Still I guess the 
smart thing todo is to have two cvs sandboxes one build for debug and 
the other release..
