Hello Isaac,

IR> Zooming stuff really isn't that difficult, software wise, as long as you're
IR> doing just plain zooming. It's just a matter of changing what part of the
IR> video you're telling it to display, Xv (or XvMC) does all the rest of the
IR> work. If you wanted to do the funky stretch 4:3 -> 16:9 modes where the
IR> sides are stretched and the center isn't, that'd take CPU power, though.

It should be enough with a setting to tell myth if the user has a 16:9 or 4:3.
All that needs to be done is to add black bars (top and bottom) if there's a
real anamorphic 16:9 broadcast so that 4:3 users get the right ratio (letterbox
format).

Other than that, there's the strange issue with the small picture with black
frames all around, wich could be taken care of as well.

Any stretch at the edges, not in the center thingie should not be needed, that's
built into all widescreen TV's (should be at least).

(The other issue that's taken care of in myth at the moment is a rare case wich
is easily avoided with a corectly set-up cable box.)
