Cool!  I look forward to trying it out tonight. :)

Any plans for what your next step might be?  If I get bitten by the coding
bug again I'd prefer not to work on something you're already working on.
For the moment I think my next project will be to attempt to get AC3
passthrough working for HD stations, so I doubt I'll be doing anything with
the hdtvrecorder files in the immediate future.

Is anyone else working on or considering working on getting AC3 output to
SPDIF working, or is there already some way to do it that I overlooked?  I
know stereo to SPDIF works, but that's much simpler since ALSA can do that
internally...
