Well, duh.
Seriously though, it's not as if I *want* to kill my front end... it's
just that sometimes I do things on my machine that cause the X server to
lock up. So I Ctrl-Alt-Bkspc to reset it, which of course kills the
front end in the process. In any event, I think the backend should be
robust enough to handle such a situation. I mean, what if my front end
lost power? (not an unusual occurrence with an easily accessible reset
switch and two toddlers!)
Anyway, as Isaac & several others have pointed out, this appears to have
been fixed. (Jeez, has it really been 2 weeks since I updated my
CVS??) I just got a fresh CVS pull last night and will try it out
today.
