Well, that's one possibility down. My console says:
mythfrontend
Probed: /dev/video0 - Television
Probed: /dev/video0 - Composite1
Probed: /dev/video0 - S-Video
Changing from None to WatchingLiveTV
Couldn't find osdtheme: defaultosd
Using XV port 56
Delaying to next trigger: 346377
Delaying to next trigger: 414333
Delaying to next trigger: 426770
Delaying to next trigger: 389790
Delaying to next trigger: 301084
Changing from WatchingLiveTV to None

I forgot to mention that xawtv does work in fullscreen mode.
Thanks for any direction you can give me. I'm really excited about almost getting MythTV to work. It seems so perfect. Anyway, if I get it working I'll post all my config files to shorten the research required for others with my same hardware/distro.
