[mythtv] Speeding up MythWeather

So, when MythBackend/Frontend is opened for the first time, does
MythWeather automatically start grabbing the information, or do we wait
until the MythWeather module is opened?
I only ask because, if we open MythWeather, and it reads the information
from a text file on open, who knows how old that file is. We have to
then wait ten minutes before we see the updated information.
I've never used MythWeather (still using 0.7), so I don't really
understand where the delays you are talking about come from...but, if
the delay is:
-click MythWeather
-delay while it DLs info
-displays Weather
I think that would be better than
-click MythWeather
-read from text file created last time MythWeather opened (five days
ago, maybe)
-display ancient Weather data
-wait 10 minutes
-display current data
I would go for the first one.
If there was some way for MythWeather to be updating the text file, even
when it wasn't the open module, then the network delays would be kind of
background, and you' always have a reasonably (within 10 minutes)
updated text file.
Does any of that make sense?
Nate
