[mythtv] odd mythbackend problem

Hi,
I'm having an odd problem. About once/week my mythbackend "doesn't let go"
of /dev/video1 after recording a show. If I connect to port 6544, it says
that it's not recording anything. If I try to watch tv, it returns the
"Mythtv is already using all available inputs...". I can watch any of the
shows that are already recorded, I can watch movies, listen to music, etc...
I just can't watch live tv, and it won't record anything else. Restarting
mythbackend fixes the problem. Since the backend hasn't crashed, I wasn't
sure if a bt would be of any value -- should I go ahead and kill it when it's
in this state, and then generate a bt? Any ideas? Oh yeah -- I'm running CVS
as of noon on December 3rd.

ps One other odd symptom -- when it's in this state, if I try to delete a
recording, it locks the frontend. If I restart the frontend, I'm right
    back where I started.
