[mythtv] Unicode in OSD

What is the difference between EPG code and OSD? Does it use different approaches? 
If I understand correctly, EPG output is using QT routines. What is the case with OSD?

Anything that can't easily be converted to latin1 can't be displayed at all by 
the current OSD font drawing routines..  someone'll need to fix that up.
