[mythtv] Entering watch-tv locks up (current CVS)

I had mythTv 0.8 sort of working on my Mandrake 9.1 box, but had the 
channel changing problem (locks up when changing channels a few times). 
So I got the latest CVS (tried many different ones during the last 4 
days), and on each and every one of them, the frontend locks up, and the 
backend dies. Last messages are:

mythbackend:
Changing from None to WatchingLiveTV
mythbackend: ÿÿÿÿ

mythfrontend:
Changing from None to None

So, what have I done wrong ? Need any more info ?
