run scantv -o output.file which will prompt you for some info about your

region etc and write a config file for you.
put this file into ~/.xawtv
it is super lame that this is not an obvious step in the setup of xawtv,

and it is not well documented.

I don't for Chris, but XawTV looks awful too...I have a TV running off
of this same line, and all of the channels come in fine...one problem is
that XawTV always come up in Europe west...where is the settings file,
anyway?

Any other suggestions welcome
