I've never attempted mythtv in a Docker Container, but I have used
Mythtv-backend running in an Ubuntu 24.04 Minimal server VM. Since it
doesn't have any snaps installed I can play with it.
I currently have an Endeavour OS (Archlinux) workstation that has a spare
partition setup to support the Mythtv Storage directories. If I'm not
running Mythtv under Arch, then I can run it in the VM and connect to the
extra hard drive with NFS. SInce my tuners for playing are all HDHomerun
networked tuners it works in VMs if you use a bridge instead of a NAT, the
default.
Fun project to test the viability of Ubuntu server as my production
backend. I ended up going with Debian 12 server as the backend.
