James,
Better yet, please go to
http://lists.mythtv.org/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users
and turn off digest mode on your subscription (i.e. answer No to the
question "Would you like to receive list mail batched in a daily digest?")
Digest mode is intended for lurkers, i.e. people who read but don't
actively participate in discussions.
If you as a digest subscriber do actively participate in discussions
this creates two problems for all other subscribers, one of which you
can prevent but the other you can't:
1. Simply replying to a digest email results in an email to the list
that has a different subject line from the thread you're responding to.
You can manually fix this as Paul H. suggests
2. But replying to a digest email also breaks the threading, because the
"In-Reply-To" header in your email refers to the digest email, not to
the email that appeared on the list. So each reply of yours starts a new
thread in everyone else's mail client, even if you remembers to change
the subject line as discussed above.
Many thanks, Jan
