 From my investigations, it appears that when my backend was built a few 
years ago it had mariadb installed prior to mythtv, so I'm stuck with 
that for now.  As long as Ubuntu 18.04 doesn't upgrade to MariaDB 10.4 I 
guess I'm okay.
