Sadly, I don't think that there is a consistent way
to interpret originalairdate.  Some movies and TV
shows that I *know* were reruns or old movies
had no originalairdate.  Presumably because the
upstream (of the upstream of the upstream) does
not have good data (and, of course, the GIGO
problem).

Generally, for sorting, if it is not life critical,
using the showing date to be the originalairdate
(if previousshowing is also null) would probably
work for the usual 80%, and work sufficiently for
the next 10%, and the remaining 5%, well, there
is no hope for them (yes, there is still another
5%, but that is within the margin of error, and
guide data has never gotten that close).
