I tested leanfront with USB audio on the Shield and that works fine. I 
did not try bluetooth.

I am away for the next week so I cannot try anything.

I suggest you try disabling surround sound in Android setup or select 
ffmpeg audio from leanfront setup. I don't know if either of these will 
solve it, but it may be worth a try.
