[mythtv-users] I somehow broke it

Hi All

The local station, trying to be clever, but being stupid, have a new year cant-find-a-polite-word

I record daily News at 5pm, that lasts 1 hour (much rubbish) and ends with weather.
I record 15 min past end on all programs.

They now have two identically named News, one at 5pm, one at 6pm being a breakfast TV type entertainment discussion panel, with the weather drifting over 6pm.

OK methought, get rid of the recording rule, and manually record at 5pm for 70 minutes.

1) myth schedules 1 news from 5 - 6 missing the last minute or so of weather and does not record the 15 min extra.
I presume scheduler has some funny logic that says you recorded XXX, now it is showing again so do not extend.

2) mythweb deleted all rules when I deleted that rule
mythbackend version: fixes/29 [v29.1-60-gaf5d819671]

I do a daily DB backup, with logrotate of 4 so just restore the DB

So my questins are, before I go spelunking and fiddling with sql

1) can I restore the recording rules from the months old backup
2) the guide, which I get from epg, was erased and is suspiciously blank an hour later. What to do about that.
The recordings and videos with meta data are intact

I run 29 as 1 of my backends is mac, and (sorry Dan) after a month of trying I could not build a 30 mac frontend

PS the spate of failures on a system that has been fine for years appears HW. but no other symptoms occur as too the disk
