Hmm my original message never came through to me, and your reply seems to have no content beyond your signature.

In any case I have more information.
I was able to delete the dead tuners by deleting all tuners on all devices and re adding the tuners, but this did not help.

I am able to see the status of all the tuners as "not recording", and I can do a channel scan on the tuners, but when I try and
watch live TV, it fails with the following in the backend log:

Nov 18 20:58:59 BlackBox mythbackend: mythbackend[1480]: I TVRecEvent tv_rec.cpp:1088 (HandleStateChange) TVRec[1]: Changing
from None to WatchingLiveTV
Nov 18 20:58:59 BlackBox mythbackend: mythbackend[1480]: I TVRecEvent tv_rec.cpp:3649 (TuningFrequency) TVRec[1]: TuningFrequency
Nov 18 20:58:59 BlackBox mythbackend: mythbackend[1480]: E TVRecEvent dtvmultiplex.cpp:379 (ParseTuningParams) DTVMux:
ParseTuningParams -- Unknown tuner type = 0xffffffff80000000
Nov 18 20:58:59 BlackBox mythbackend: mythbackend[1480]: E TVRecEvent recorders/dtvchannel.cpp:300 (SetChannelByString)
DTVChan[1](101694BD-0): SetChannelByString(2.1a): Failed to initialize multiplex options
Nov 18 20:58:59 BlackBox mythbackend: mythbackend[1480]: E TVRecEvent tv_rec.cpp:3727 (TuningFrequency) TVRec[1]: Failed to set
channel to 2.1a. Reverting to kState_None
Nov 18 20:58:59 BlackBox mythbackend: mythbackend[1480]: I TVRecEvent tv_rec.cpp:1088 (HandleStateChange) TVRec[1]: Changing
from WatchingLiveTV to None
