Thanks. I tried the Ubuntu 19.04 beta which has Nvidia 418.56.

Playback is identical with the same messages.

Tried latest master - the same.

Tried nvdec on latest master - perfect.

So I can use nvdec or opengl high quality with no downside, so the issue 
is possibly unique to my configuration and not worth pursuing unless 
others report it.

For the record, the stream info is:-
