3rd party firmware is a good thing..  With dd-wrt, you can do a tcpdump on
the wired interface..

tcpdump -i <interface name> -nn -A -XX port 67 or port 68

This will dump your DHCP packets on that interface to the screen.  Reboot
the HDHR while that is running and post the output (if any).

I cannot remember if dd-wrt (long time since I ran it) has tcpdump
installed by default, but you can definitely install it using Entware or
whatever they call it nowadays..
