Nvidia Shield.  I don't anticipate ever going back to a PC frontend.  Did you try Android Mythfrontend on the Fire Stick?  I don't have any experience on the Stick but on the Shield its great,








This is where i'd be looking if my primary FE failed. my secondary FE's are all rpi3's which while they lack grunt for ffwd/rwd and i think higher bitrate 1080p content, work perfectly well for broadcasted TV. Peter (afaik the main/only dev working on rpi3) has done an excellent job on it for a low powered FE.



my main FE is a Celeron nuc 2820 (DN2820FYKH) and that works flawlessly. i think the current comparable nuc is about £140, but if i were to replace the 2820, then the sheild (£180 area iirc) would definitely be in the shortlist. Deciding factor would be the raw grunt it has vs a celly nuc.
