Thanks for this John, I had not seen your reply from today when I wrote my
other message this evening.

Thanks very much, that' s a useful reference!

If I get several copies of a channel, is it safe to delete all but one?
Where exactly should I be doing this? Is it in mythbackend-setup / channel
editor, highlight that channel, press m for a mini-menu, then select DELETE?

A somewhat related question (though I'm straying off course and shouldn't):
I'd like to see only HD channels, yet when I do a full rescan from zero,
and only select dvb-s2 parameters, I get all the SD ones as well, which I
can never be bothered to record and only clutter up the listings. Why, and
how would I avoid that?

I did not at the time, not least because I did not have mythweb installed.
But I have now.

I have now done all of that, but still no joy.

  ./cross-eit.py -o /tmp/export.xml "10211,Channel 4 HD"
(gives a good-looking file)

mythfilldatabase --refresh-all --verbose xmltv --file --sourceid 1
--xmlfile /tmp/export.xml
(no major complaints in the log on stdout)

but then manage recordings / schedule recordings / programme guide / scroll
to Channel 4 HD still says Unknown for anything beyond the current time.

What else am I missing out?
