[mythtv-users] Upgrade hell

Well, I bit on a Ryzen 3 2200g to run a secondary backend I have that was
getting a little long in the tooth. Lots of trouble getting the BIOS update
needed to get my motherboard to recognize the new chip. I ended up buying
an openbox A8 to get me over that hurdle. Once I got the BIOS updated and
the unit booting, I cloned the mSATA boot drive from the old unit over to
the new M2 SATA. Hurray! It boots Ubuntu 16.04.
I have the thing running, I had to set a static IP to match the old NIC or
it crashed trying to watch liveTV. I don't think my kernel is getting all
the latest features out of this CPU. I discovered that with newer kernels,
the driver software for my PCI-E Ceton Infinitv 4-tuner card doesn't
compile. So... I can't use this for a frontend in the guest bedroom. No
audio from the HDMI. Also, no VDPAU support that I can see.
Anyone else here tinkering with these new chips?
Steve
