No it's not a HDCP issue, like I said the same setup works fine with 
other HDMI capture devices just not with the HD-PVR2.

I've just tried it using the Windows drivers under Window 10 and it 
works fine so it's not a hardware or compatibility issue so it must be 
the crappy drivers.

I did manage to get Hauppauge2  to capture something but again there was 
no audio and the picture quality was quite bad but I just used the 
defaults so I would hope that could be improved if I can get it to work 
more than once without having to reboot it. It feels like a timing issue 
with something not being initialized properly before the capture starts 
and it then just times out and completely locks up requiring it to be 
killed and the HD-PVR2 to be powered off and on again.

It will be interesting to see if anybody else has any better luck with it.
