And now that I think about it, any Linux box can be made to work as a
powerful router, just by installing the right software.  So if you
enable the firewall, you can then get your MythTV box to do invisible
redirection for you.  If you only want the proxy to work on packets
from mythbackend, then you would also need to use namespaces, which
would make things rather more complicated, but it is certainly doable.
