Since the HDPVR uses a USB connection, my advice to anyone with USB
device problems applies: check the cable! Some USB cables fit better
than others, and I have had lots of problems with ones that fit
loosely and then cause intermittent connection problems. Where
possible, it is best to try to have as little stress as possible on
the plugs from how the cable is run, so that they do not tend to move
in the socket. Cats, children and dusting or vacuuming nearby are
always hazards to cables.

So you could try a different cable, or rearrange how the cable runs to
see if you can get it less stressed. And it is always a good idea to
just unplug it and plug it in again to see if it was not seated
properly.
