It seems it also fails to initialize nouveau trying several
alternatives and ending with using the vesa driver, which cannot run
your wanted settings.

It seems the problem is in your kernel! So if you just updated your
kernel, you can try stepping back to the old one. For the current
kernel you need the matching nvidia module compiled for that kernel.
