Did you mean 6.5? Debian (testing) has 6.6 dated 2017-11-05 which is
the most recent version according to

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=804299 seems to
explain that (I expect Ubuntu inherits this from Debian), also it looks
like (from comment #65) it might be coming back.

I reckon (without proof or having actually tried it) that you can
probably just replace /var/lib/smartmontools/drivedb/drivedb.h with a
more up to date version you downloaded manually -- that's all update-
smart-drivedb appears to do...
