Hello everyone
So I had a CentOS 6 backend & remote frontend working fine.
I had a frontend crash and some space issues which basically made me make
the backend/frontend again.
So I have now an Ubuntu 18 TLS backend that I just created yesterday and my
existing Centos 7 frontend. The audio setup is hdmi from frontend to my
Denon AVR X4300, and hdmi to TV
I got them working and even though it's only 24 hours - everything that I
have tested seems to work like I want to EXCEPT:
There are some movies that give me static noise when I try to play. I
believe they are all TrueHD and DTS-HD.
My audio setup: I am doing "ALSA:hdmi" and under it, it shows DTS-HD and
TrueHD are supported.
Now granted my Frontend hardware is ION Zotac - so hardware may not support
it - but I also know that I have watched all these movies multiple times on
my old setup so it def worked. Unfortunately I don't remember how audio was
set in the Setup, and it's not something I can go back to and check/confirm.
Fiddling around, I see that if i uncheck TrueHD and DTS-HD, those movies
play the audio.
I am not being a stickler - but out of curiosity - when I uncheck this in
the Audio Setup - is it playing me "DTS" instead of DTS-HD? My receiver
shows the audio signals as "Multi channel PCM" for TrueHD, and DTS for
DTS-HD so I know there is either a decoding conversion or maybe a lower
bitrate.
Not sure if the audio is degraded when it says Multi-channel PCM ? Should i
select the AC3 track instead, IF available (only a few of my movies have
been transcoded such)?
Thank you
