You probably need to fix the permissions at the Windows end. I am
using this to do my database backups to my Windows 7 box:
//10.0.2.2/LDRIVE /mnt/savaidh/ldrive cifs
soft,username=stephen1,password=password 0 0
I do not have any problems with it. But the LDRIVE share on Windows 7
is set for "Full Control" by "Everyone". And the stephen1 user is an
Administrator.
The user isn't an administrator but I do have the everyone setting. So many
magic incantations.
