Glad you got it sorted :)

I'm surprised it's taking that long. Whether it's the processing of the 
XML file or it's mysql working hard to update the rows and indexes I'm 
not sure. There's some largish VARCHAR fields and 4 indexes and with 34K 
rows it takes some time I guess.

Most users won't even know there has been an update since there is an 
house keeping task run by the backend that runs every 24 hours to check 
for updates and then do the update in the background. It was just 
because the update failed for you that the frontend was forced to do it.
