well, i cant seem to get the autodiscovery side working but now i've updated the BE to 29, the FE can now connect with manual config.
if i stop the BE, the FE autodiscovery seems to be using UPnP, which i dont have configured on my network, so i guess this is the bit that i need to look at to configure.
fwiw, the centos FE is v29.0-v29.0-28-g5dce69fbb5 (via nux-desktop repos as per wiki) and BE is FC26 with v29.0-59-g61d331c (compiled from git)
is there any mythtv specific info on this on a wiki somewhere? be useful to know how to get it working.
Could be as simple as firewall rules, or could be i'm missing a UPnP daemon, an selinux policy... or something else entirely.
i'm quite happy to have manually configured FE's so playing around with the autodiscovery is just a luxury.
