How do you have the HDMI hooked up to your system - from myth computer to the receiver to the TV, or are you looping mythtv to tv to receiver? In my setup, that only will allow 2ch stereo if I go from TV to receiver - it basically resamples audio down to stereo - you have to run directly to receiver first in my setup for 5.1.
