No need for concerns, mythbuntu 16.04 will be around for some time, it 
is based on Ubuntu 16.04 which is supported until Apr-2021 (End of Life).

You can always install mythtv using the mythtv PPA's which are 
continuing, on say Xubuntu - I have done this with no problems. See
